Primm Economic Development Corporation will provide community based programs in a center that consists of:

  • Educational opportunities, and social services
  • Parenting classes (targeted for parents and children)
  • Computer Labs
  • Web page (develop)

PRIMM operates an after-school programs that offers computer classes to community residents of all ages and backgrounds. Community Kids offers art projects, physical activities, snacks, and computer-based academic tutoring to children age twelve and under. (Computers are to be donated by major corporations). Proposals will be prepared seeking funding for our classes that target children and teenagers.

College Campus Outreach Program developed through surrounding colleges: Calpoly Pomona, DeVry, Claremont and Mount SanAntonio. PRIMM will develop mentoring partnerships in a federal outreach effort called America Reads. This program is a tutoring program that seeks to ensure that children can read independently by the third grade. PRIMM hopes to prepare students to attend four-year colleges and universities.

Teen Center to provide a “safehaven” for teenagers in the community through the utilization of available buildings on weekday evenings, all day on Saturdays, and occasional Sunday afternoons. Target Community Organizations PRIMM will seek to attract the demographic segments, which are absent from the existing membership base.

Program Application

All participants must submit an application along with a $50 application fee to cover the cost of materials. Families with multiple participants may receive a discount. Applications are due by January 14, 2014. Payment is due by the first day of class, January 25, 2014.
